Have you ever dreaded taking the standardized tests in the spring and having to sit there for 2+ hours? And have so much homework that you are staying up till ten working on it? Or just taking notes in class all day?
Well the reason why I am talking about this topic is because in my opinion,
I think the school system is sucking the creativity out of everyone and just trying to make them study hard for state tests, quizzes and doing lots of homework Instead of, music, art, dancing, etc. we just prepare, prepare, and prepare! Also, teachers get very underpaid even though teachers have very important jobs.
Standardized tests are useful to lots of people because people have different talents or different traits that matter more than what a test can do for young kids. “One of the chief reasons that students' standardized test scores continue to be the most important factor in evaluating a school is deceptively simple. Most educators do not really understand why a standardized test provides a misleading estimate of a school staff effectiveness.” Not to mention, these test can hurt teachers to! For an example, if a teacher has ten kids and seven of those ten fail, the teacher can have consequences and as harsh as being fired! Is that really necessary? …show more content…

I know that the grading system is a tool to help measure kids in there accuracy and to see were that particular kid stands. But is the grading system really not that fair because, “Oh, and make them compete to get an A. A letter which determines product quality. Hence grade A of meat.” says Prince Ea. That is a good example that most kids try to compete for good grades on tests, quizzes and homework. But some kids might get bad grades but be really smart and I don’t feel that this grading system we use right now is not fair to some
