In the musical ‘Into The Woods’ written by Stephen Sondheim my favorite quote is “Opportunity is not a lengthy visitor” and as my high school career is rapidly coming to an end and adulthood is becoming more and more of a concept I am beginning to grasp all of the things that I want to achieve are rushing to my mind. I want to do so many things; I want to help people and teach people, I want to create peace and art, provide hope and kindness to those to need it. I want to learn all I can and then share my knowledge with anyone who is willing to hear it. But , as previously stated for some of these things there are only so many opportunities, which makes me think more of chances I should have taken and moments I should have seized. I believe that getting my associates degree first will help future educators look at me as a more serious candidate for their teaching programs. As I attend Pierce College I specifically want to further my knowledge in American Sign Language and take more art histories. Once I finish my education at Pierce College I want to transfer to a university and work on getting a bachelor's degree and become an arts teacher, focusing mainly on theater and stage production. Theater is something that really helped me maintain motivation during my junior and senior years of high school and it provided me with a safe space to express myself and form some of the best friendships I have ever had. If I could provide that kind of space and community to a student and make people enjoy their high school experience a little more than I would be
