Everything I have done in my adult life has always had an underlying reasoning or driving force beyond my personal desires. I am an extremely calculating person in regards to what, when, where, and why I do the things I do. Just as every single person in this world, my actions have not always played out in the manner in which I foresaw them but to this day I would not change any of the difficult times I have found myself in. The reasoning for my mindset is because everything I have gone through has had a lasting affect on me as a person and has undoubtedly helped make me the person I am today. By imploring this strategy it draws people in and makes them feel comfortable being in the establishment; but consequently this strategy also has the opposite effect and actually pushes patrons out of the door because they no longer feel comfortable and welcomed. The lone area of dissatisfaction for me in regards to the UCF Recreational and Wellness Center is actually a popular trend that has been implement in gyms across the country. The trend I am referring to is the incorporation of smoothie bars inside the gyms. Let me be clear, I am not saying that smoothie bars are necessarily a bad service nor am I saying smoothie bars are of no usefulness. What I am saying is, it is no secret the average individual goes to the gym and uses it as a social gathering spot. So these smoothie bars are being designed to serve as fully functioning specialty restaurants, which I completely feel is in contradiction to the actual purpose of what going to the gym means. Additionally, having a smoothie bar in the gym plays on the emotional connection of food and self-satisfaction or self worth. Honestly, as people are leaving the gym they are going to encounter the bar on their way out and are going to justify within themselves the reason they should enjoy a smoothie. Now again enjoying a smoothie once a week is perfectly fine, but given how weak willed and undisciplined the average person is, enjoying a smoothie once a week would be extremely difficult. Of everything I took in this day, the smoothie bar was the only addition that confused me but even that was short lived because I was more interested in working out than anything
