Mission Statement: The Mission of the Service Learning and Community Engagement Program (SLCEP) is to support student learning through course-based study that connects to responsive civic action whether in local, regional, or international locales. The mission statement is described on homepage, but not fleshed out and community service or engagement is not defined.

The community engagement, mission, vision, and principles, are explained in detail on the website and use key terms such as: collaborative; engage;

• Features 27 staff members including university administrators and community members.

• Provides training for faculty and curriculum development.

• There are forms on the website to fill out to access these opportunities.

• Offers opportunities to present at conferences for students, faculty and staff.

• Faculty can design a service learning course and have teaching resources.

• Students can become service learning teaching assistants.

Partnerships: There are some ways to collaborate with community partners, such as through a service learning class.

Service Related Student Perks: Service learning teaching assistants, and service learning teaching assistant fellows are offered. There are several Leadership and Service Awards for students, student organizations and alumni- some awards come with a monetary award also.
