Valley City State University Memorandum TO: Jodi Shorma, Professor FROM: Chelsey Olauson, Student DATE: January 18, 2017 RE: Memo Report Assignment This report provides three ways the VCSU website (vcsu.edu) supports its mission statement. The VCSU Mission Statement is "Through flexible, accessible, and innovative baccalaureate and master's programs, VCSU prepares students to succeed as educators, leaders, and engaged citizens in an increasingly complex and diverse society." Included in the main focus is the website’s innovative and user-friendly design, the accessibility of individual program specifics, and finally the simplified complexity that is the website’s strategy.
Howard University is a predominantly black school, expressing excellence, leadership, truth and service I could contribute to the legacy of Howard University in many ways. Growing up I've always wanted to gain the experience of a historically black college or university. As a member of the National Beta Club we promote the ideals of academic achievement and leadership. Being apart of the National Beta Club caused me to strive for my goals and take leadership in all that I do. The mission statement states "To promote the ideals of academic achievement, character, service and leadership among elementary and secondary school students."
Washington State University is located in Pullman, Washington, approximately 1,766.8 miles from Webb City, Missouri. The mission statement, as found on the web page of WSU is “to provide an impartial, neutral and confidential process that facilitates fair and equitable resolutions to concerns that arise within the university.” Washington State University is an amazing school devoted to the education of the nation's finest students. There are many things that set this school apart from others such as location, majors and minors, requirements, tuition, and scholarships and grants.
BACKGROUND Knowing the background of the job of interest not only provides an upper hand but an idea of what type of atmosphere it has been throughout the years. Knowing the history, key individuals, purpose statement and values, and mission statements can sometimes persuade applicants to apply for a job with the institution. Encountering this information has become much easier with the use of the internet and search engines. History “Texas A&M University and Prairie View A&M University were first founded as land-grant colleges in 1876,” years later the A&M system was established in 1948 by the Texas Legislature.
Implementing a New Learning Management System Introduction In keeping with Valor Christian College’s (VCC) mission statement to “educate and train Christian leaders in academic excellence, moral integrity, spiritual intensity and physical purity to be agents of change and models of character and to serve Christ professionally in the advancement of His kingdom” (Valor Christian College, 2015, Mission section, para 5), implementing a learning management system (LMS) will enable Valor Christian College to expand its mission to equip men and women as leader for the kingdom of G-d1 worldwide. Originally called World Harvest Bible College, Valor Christian College was founded in 1990 by World Harvest Church. It is located in central Ohio, about 16 miles away from Columbus. The College which was originally housed on 10 acres of land now sits on 52 acres of land and strives to be relevant for the kingdom of G-d by preparing leaders globally (Valor Christian College, 2015, About Valor Christian College, para.
Duke University’s mission statement is what initially caught my eye. Duke presents itself to be very invested in their students’ success. In my search for a college that will help me grow as an individual, that attribute is very attractive to me. Within the various clubs offered, I would love to join ASPIRE or Duke PAWS. Through these clubs, I would have the ability to help and positively impact the community, which is something I have greatly enjoyed doing throughout my high school career.
Coming from a different culture but still embracing the Christian values that Loma Linda University emphasizes, I believe that my unique background and personal experiences distinguish my application from others. Growing up in Egypt, where the gap between social classes is significant, my parents always stressed the need to prioritize service into my life encouraging me to dedicate time in volunteering and helping others. As a result, my experience has grown from volunteering to serve as a camp leader for orphans in the summer to participating in international dental service trips. These involvements would allow me to use my skills in organizing missions trips at Loma Linda. Being a Coptic Orthodox Christian enables me to add diversity to the
The mission of ATSU is to provide a learning-centered education which I firmly believe in myself. I have dedicated myself to schooling over the years and prided myself on the effort and dedication I have put forth. Having an education is something I value to great length. It is something you earn on your own, that no one can take away. I am applying to ATSU because of this high expectations of learning-center education.
College always seemed to be on my life’s road map. It was never a matter of if I would go, but rather when I would go; what subject would I devote my time to studying and most importantly, which institute would I decide to attend. Regent University, so I have read, “was founded on biblical principles to make a significant difference in our world”. Their mission statement rings true by the testimony given to me by a couple of coworkers that attend Regent and only have the best reports to give. I look forward to joining the Regent family and expanding my mental and spiritual horizons.
The first focus in the University of Charleston’s mission statement is productive work (Ucwv.edu, Mission. 2018). The University of Charleston define productive work as “trying to contribute a positive improvement or impact to society throughout your life” (Ucwv.edu, Mission. 2018). The LLOs that best help us to achieve this focus are communication, creativity, and critical thinking. Communicating is a very important part of productive work because it lays the basics for strong communication to be built upon. If there is poor communication productive work cannot be achieved.

During my high school years, I have completed a Constitutional Law for Enlightened Citizens course, Constitution Alive! A Citizen's Guide to the Constitution, and an Explore a Career as a Paralegal course.
I will strive to make all diverse students develop a sense of belonging to our school. At the Overland High School whenever diverse students and their families come to our school for the first time, I will focus on developing strong relationships with them. Jayme Lyn Karr Colorado State University-Global Statement of Purpose October 4, 2017 Finding My Purpose Purpose is defined as “The reason for which something is done, created or for which something exists” according to Google. I think purpose, is the reason why people get out of bed each morning. The feeling that you are on the right path, and a sense of belonging. Being the oldest out of four siblings. I believe my purpose consists of teaching, mentoring, and motivating.
I know from my own experience that I do not like to be excluded from things that interest me or comfort me. I cannot imagine how detrimental living in such a way for so long could be to a human being. When I first moved to this town, I felt like an outsider, I
I grew up in Wellston, Ohio and lived in the countryside about fifteen minutes from town. My house was a home to me and it wasn 't the greatest, but it was special to me. My big backyard consisted of many fruit trees and a grape vine, it was where I had bonfires with my family and friends, and it was where I ran free with my brother. I had a pond, “over the hill” as my brother and I would say, where we swam and fished in the summertime and sat on the deck feeding bread to the bluegill as we had conversations about life. Behind our pond was where thousands of trees stood tall and where we roamed every inch of the hidden land.
