Implementing a New Learning Management System
Introduction
In keeping with Valor Christian College’s (VCC) mission statement to “educate and train Christian leaders in academic excellence, moral integrity, spiritual intensity and physical purity to be agents of change and models of character and to serve Christ professionally in the advancement of His kingdom” (Valor Christian College, 2015, Mission section, para 5), implementing a learning management system (LMS) will enable Valor Christian College to expand its mission to equip men and women as leader for the kingdom of G-d1 worldwide. Originally called World Harvest Bible College, Valor Christian College was founded in 1990 by World Harvest Church. It is located in central Ohio, about 16 miles away from Columbus. The College which was originally housed on 10 acres of land now sits on 52 acres of land and strives to be relevant for the kingdom of G-d by preparing leaders globally (Valor Christian College, 2015, About Valor Christian College, para. 3) not only by preaching but also by academic studies.

It is user-friendly and allows students to easily view the syllabus, course content, class list, assignments, discussion, quizzes, grades and progress without getting lost. Although Blackboard and Desire2Learn do not mention their weaknesses, the downside to both LMS may be their ability to handle multiple users at the same time.
