In the Marine Corps we have a saying, “Marines don’t rise to any occasion we simply default to our level of training”. This simply means that our training prepares us for any mission that we may face from humanitarian missions to conflict over seas. The quality of training may not always be that great, but the effort we put into the training and the emphasis we place on the importance of it allows us to be more effective to the point our training is more rigorous that the actual events themselves. While reading Colorado Christian University (CCU) Strategic Objective—as I was identifying two biblical worldviews—one word stood out to me above all, “shall”. 1 Corinthians 10:31 states, “So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God” (The New International Version Study Bible, 2011). CCU exemplifies this objective in many ways. First, the strategic objectives demonstrated through the staff and their interactions with the students regardless of the stage they’re at in their journey towards higher education. This stood out to me as I was planning to get re-enrolled with my classes as I had to take a break due to military commitments. The staff reached out to me first, which encouraged me to get started and to continue what I started years prior. From the excitement in their voice to the courses where everything that we do points to the Bible and is backed up with scripture and most importantly within the correct context. The participation with other students allows us to share the love of Christ on campus via the discussions as well as the “student lounge” should anyone need to talk about something or request prayer for good grades or family members. The fact that this was even thought of speaks volumes of what this university stands for. The second way this biblical objective is being exemplified are in the questions of the assignments we have that range from enhancing our understanding to learning to apply what we are experiencing in the course or in our lives. This gives us a chance to be able to use in our daily lives and apply the questions and answers around the world giving us a foundation to use to start the conversation with others in our home or workplace. Every course that I have taken I have grown and have been challenged to take an objective stance to see if my worldview has shifted in certain areas which the professors have always given me a deeper insight—as I try to be transparent about situations—which direct me to the truth which is the Word of
