Steve Jobs revolutionized the personal computer market with his launch of Apple in 1976. Furthermore, the launch of his start up brought never before seen marketing tactics combined with quality products. Jobs extraneous ways of managing the company and its employees helped to advance the company past competition and to appeal to the masses. The right side of the business model canvas has been used brilliantly by Jobs, and Apple continues to marvel consumers with their business strategies. Apple has maintained good customer relations, as they continue to meet the demands of the value proposition. Apple has established customer service lines, as well as genius bars, where customers can go with questions about their products. In addition to their hired customer service, Apple relies on its users, who often identify and fix problems with their products on their own. Apple products also come with may warrantees and guarantees, which Steve Jobs emphasized in order to keep product quality at its highest point. This use of community, combined with warrantees and guarantees, has allowed Apple to get, keep, and grow its customers. Apple has built up its customer relationships by upholding its promises and releasing copious amounts of product information in order for the customer to further understand the product, and help others understand the product and its functions as well. Apple uses a vertically integrated model in order to boost its revenue streams. When Jobs introduced the IPod, he also introduced the ITunes store, which would forever change how music is consumed. The ITunes store allowed users to purchase and store their music so that it would be available to listen to at all times. More recently, the App store was introduced as a place for users to purchase or download applications designed by independent app developers. A long with the App store, Apple also offers the IBook store, where users can purchase and download books that can then be read on their devices. Another revenue stream is Apple Music, a subscription based music streaming service now offered by Apple. As Apple continues to expand its brand, its revenue steams continue to grow. Bringing in over $24 billion in revenues last year off of services and software alone, Apple’s introduction of new services continues to pay off, as it seems Apple adds a new source of revenue into the equation every year. Recently, the introduction of Apple TV brought about yet another revenue stream for Apple, as it is now offering its own TV subscription service, of which many cable users have already switched over to.
