Steve Jobs On September 24, 1955, Steve Jobs was born in the city of San Francisco, California. Throughout his life, he experienced many hardships, yet grew to become one of Technology’s greatest contributors. His biological parents were University of Wisconsin graduates. However, soon after birth, he was put up for adoption. “His father, Abdulfattah Jandali, was a Syrian political science professor, and his mother, Joanne Schieble, worked as a speech therapist.” (Steve Jobs) He was a child that was really unexpected because he came into the world before his parents had even married one another. He was once offered to skip grades as a youngster in school and head straight to High School because of how smart he was and how well he did when being assessed. Entering Homestead High School in 1971, his partner in crime was introduced to him, Steve Wozniak. Jobs finished high school and went to Reed College for a short period of time before leaving. Being more experienced in the technological world, Wozniak admired Jobs and his knowledge of the field, and they worked together in designing the, now famous, company of Apple Inc. Together, they expanded the company and became rivals with the establishment, Microsoft. Though Wozniak was the more knowledgeable individual in the field, most credits were given to Jobs because of the more things that he did. Sadly, though, Steve Jobs passed away, after years being determined to try and survive pancreatic cancer, on October 5th of 2011. Though, in the minds of most, that is the main thing that pops up soon after they think of the man, Apple. However, he did much more than create a successful company. As americanexpress.com affirms, what his biggest contribution is right within his name, jobs. (Steve Jobs' Biggest Contribution (That No One Is Talking About)) Having created the company, he opened up thousands of job positions to be taken up, in the technological world. He practically helped the economy prosper, in a way. However, his co-founding of Apple was an immense contribution in its entirety, as well. He innovated technology, using it to create complex machines and cellular devices. Without Jobs and Wozniak, Microsoft probably would not have been able to introduce all of the latest and most multifaceted devices that they have, today. There would not have been a growing rivalry between the two companies that drove one another to try and make creations better than the last invention. The amount of communication and understanding of technology may not have been as large as it is, today, without Jobs and Wozniak. Also, through his Apple Inc., Steve Jobs was able to create a computer that individuals could use personally, rather than the large, expensive types that were prevalent back then and only used by scientists, really. He was able to design the iMac, iPod, iPhone, iBook, and many other things that begin with “i”. Without
