Steve Jobs is one of the great leaders that our society will always remember. Through his leadership styles he was able to become the successful businessman, designer and, inventor that he was. Steve Jobs was born on February 24, 1955 in San Francisco to a Syrian father named Abdulfattah Jandali and a mother of German heritage named Joanne Jandali Simpson. However the father of Joanne did not favor Abdulfattah and he had told his daughter that he would disown her is she stayed with him and had the baby. Around the same time her father became very sick and she made the choice to put their soon to be son Steve for adoption. When Steve was born he was put for adoption. He also had a neighbor that inspired him and gave him the idea of making newly designed products and putting them on the market. That is the same vision that Steve had for Apple. He wanted to make new and new designs and later sell them to masses of people. As Steve grew older the more he realized that he had great passion for electronics. The first time that he realized that he had a strong passion for computers was when his father took him to the Ames Center. Growing up with people that were into electronics and producing new products inspired Steve to want to be just like them. He was inspired by the history of technology that he wanted to be part of it as well. When Steve started school he was already above average and was able to skip one grade above. This shows that from a young age he was a special child that was going to grow up to be an intelligent man. The older he became he gained more knowledge of electronics and electronic parts. While in high school he met a friend names Steve Wozniak, their name was not the only thing that there shared in common instead they had many similar interests. Six years ago that same company was located in his parents’ bedroom and garage. This shows that he was determined and from a young age knew that he had an interest in electronics. Being determined is one of the important qualities a leader should portray because when her or she knows that it is that they want they will make it happen. As a leader going public is an important milestone in her or her life. The Apple Computer went public and was valued at $1.79 billion. At the time Jobs was the public face of the IPO in which he helped choose two investments banks to handle it. Apple went public on December 12th, 1980 and by then the stock price went up to twenty-two dollars a share. This made Steve worth about &256 million at the age of 25. He was a young leader with a lot to be in charge of. Steve was a different kind of leader in the Apple Company. He was not quite a humanitarian. At first he had a foundation set up by hiring a man to run, but soon after he found the person he hired to be annoying. He did not like people that made a demonstration of philanthropy or those that thought they could reinvent it. At times Jobs did not get along with his teammates. For example, Raskin wanted to keep the Mac’s price under $1,000 but Jobs wanted to build a great machine and he did not care how much it would cost as long as it was good.
