Leaders are not perfect, is that true? Most Leaders may seem perfect but once you dig deeper you find out about their mistakes. Most leaders will try to hide their mistakes from the world. Why, because they are afraid that their new reputation will not uphold their standards. Take Steve Jobs as example, he had many great accomplishments but also has had his fair share of downfalls. He would take out his frustration by screaming at his co-workers, insult them and take all of the credit for something he didn’t do. For something that his co-workers had done by themselves. One of his ideas was to make Pixar a hardware store instead of an animation film studio. Pixar was originally going to be an animation film studio, but when Jobs had bought it he wanted to make it into a hardware store. So for Pixar’s earliest moments when Jobs had bought it, Pixar was a hardware store. Pixar’s first major product as a hardware store was the Pixar Image Computer. This amazing machine cost $135,000 and was aimed at the Medical and Graphics Industry. Pixar had originally wanted to be an Animation Film Studio but Jobs Had ignored what they had wanted and put his ideas and desires first. Although Jobs was doing what he had wanted for Pixar, they had pursued their dreams. That still did not mean that they all of a sudden they became amazing. Their computer sales continued to move down hill and this unfortunate event had caused Pixar to almost get run out of business. When this happened Jobs practically gave up on Pixar. When Disney had Bought the computers they still did not sell well and that was when Pixar decided to become a Animation Film Studio. Jobs decided to sell Pixar’s entire hardware division, this included all of his ownership of the hardware technology and the imaging software. He would often ruin the lives of other people by firing them from what would possibly be they only money that their family could earn. Those Families would then have to rummage around for all of the possible money they could get until they got a well paying job again. Steve Jobs blamed others for his mistakes instead of owning up to them. That was often his reasoning behind firing his employees. Steve Jobs would give wrong directions to his employees and it would be their fault, he would wake up in a bad mood and it would be their fault, and a computer would not sell well and it be everyone but his fault. What type of a leader can’t handle the fact that they are not perfect. Also He tried to change Pixar into something it clearly wasn’t meant to be. How did he get a hardware store out of a Animation Film Studio? He took the dream Pixar had of wanting to be a successful Animation Film Studio and tore it down and said start over. Jobs took away the dreams of others and put his own in as a replacement. It turns out that his dream failed and Pixar eventually became a very successful Animation Film Studio.
