Steven Spielberg is a film genius who has played a large role in the creation and development of the many influential films that were released over the years. He became the youngest director in Universal Studios’ history. He has released so many well-received films with many famed actors. Spielberg has accomplished a great amount of success with a lot of determination as a filmmaker, producer, editor, and writer; which is credited a lot from his early years of filming. Steven Spielberg was born on the 18th of December, 1946 in the city of Cincinnati, Ohio. Spielberg found two other men that would share his dream with him. He found a producer, Dennis Hoffman, and a photographer, Allen Daviau. He received funding from his producer, and help with camera set up from his photographer. They were able to produce a film that went by the name Amblin’. Following the production of this film, he received attention from people he knew at Universal Studios; it soon began to have more success and it won festivals such as the Venice and Atlanta film festivals (Meachum 23-24). He contacted colleagues from college and he used their expertise to wrap up his newly developed screenplay. This film would be his first original piece of work that he would showcase to Universal. He came up with his idea from a newspaper article that he had stumbled across. He decided to piece together a whole production, which required a lot of time, effort, and dedication (Meachum 29-31).
He worked on other films, however they were not as successful as his previous work. He began working with Author Peter Benchley to review the novel Jaws for a movie adaptation. Spielberg decided to make significant changes from the novel to the screenplay in order for it to be something that would be thrilling for people to watch.
