Research Questions, Hypotheses, and Variables This replicated quantitative study will focus on the relationship that exists between authentic leadership and ministerial effectiveness of pastors. The two main variables for this correlation study is the level of authentic leadership as measured by the authentic leadership questionarie (ALQ) and ministerial effectiveness as measured by the ministry effectiveness inveotry (MEI). Authentic leadership will be defined as a whole as well as broken into four sub-scales: self-awareness, values and ethics, balanced processing, and transparency, as defined by Avolio, Gardner and Walumbwa (2005) and correlated with ministerial effectiveness as measured by the MEI. R1: To what extent if any is there a correlation between the level of authentic leadership and the level of ministerial effectiveness of pastors in the East Michigan District of the Wesleyan Church?
H1: There is a not a significant correlation between the level of authentic leadership of pastors, as measured by the ALQ, and the level of pastoral effectiveness as measured by the MEI.
H01: There is a significant correlation between the level of authentic leadership of pastors, as measured by the ALQ, and the level of pastoral effectiveness as measured by the MEI.
