Is the war on terror really justified? Should the soldiers risk their lives right now? What are we fighting for in the Middle East? From my first-hand experience, I can say that the war that we are fighting is justified, and some of the things we have done recently have played a vital role of what not do. Years ago when our World Trade Towers were taken down, it has lead us to the war on terror. I was deployed twice for a total of twenty-seven months in Iraq and Afghanistan. I give credit to the men and women still risking their lives to preserve our freedom. In the beginning, I believed that it was important to go to the Middle East to stop the terrorists that were in power that gave the order to commit the crimes on American soil. Over the last few years, I think the politicians are fighting a different war. I believe that we will never leave the Middle East. I think that most of the politics in office want to stay over there for the oil. …show more content…
On the other hand, was it an excuse to stay over there to try to get oil? My time in the country, I have rebuilt schools, improve irrigation, eliminated enemy threats, and improve farmland all over the country. Never forget that when Uncle Sam gave the order to go somewhere, I did not ask questions I just simply carried out the order. We do not necessarily all believe in all the things that the politicians say what we are doing is all politically correct, but I know that I did make a difference to the people of the Middle East. So do I think it is justified? Yes, most certainly. Even though I have lost many great, brave soldiers in battle. Do I think we should be over their right now? Yes, A lot of people may think that I am crazy for thinking this but what I have come to realize as being a soldier myself is that it does not matter who got us in the war or why we are fighting it, what matters is who is still over
