A parent will be able to voice their concerns with the teacher if they feel their child is having trouble in class. Also, parents can keep up with their child’s performance by checking their grades online. These types of parent involvement exercises can be very convenient for parents who have a busy work schedule. Parents who are more flexible with their schedules should consider joining the PTA. The PTA is a great opportunity for parents to involve themselves in more school activities. Although there are parents who feel it’s difficult to get involved because they feel their own education is limited, there are programs that can assist with that problem. HIPPY is a program aimed to help parents who want to help their children early on in their school work, but feel they are not able to because they did not acquire the proper education. The HIPPY program helps both the parents and the children learn at the same time. Parents should be involved in any way possible in their child’s education because it makes a substantial difference.
