Reflective Writing Assignment #2: Demian Rubalcaba At the beginning of the presentation, Demian told the class that he was a heroin and methamphetamine addict. Through his struggles with addiction, the field of social work began to become familiar to him and he began to gravitate toward that profession. Although he works with adolescents and young adults who struggle with addiction, he emphasized that having personal experience isn’t enough to help clients.
Summary For the outside resource for my topic, I did a ride-along with the UW-Whitewater campus police officers. Through this process, I also used the department site as a source it should that they even have programs for drug awareness for students to go (University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, n.d.). Something that I had never known was that the school has a special program that if a student gets caught underage drinking or caught with drugs they can pay to go to a course instead of getting it on their permanent record that they were ever in trouble. The ride-along was from 8 to 12 and the time was separate between two different officers. For the first half, it was your basic ride-along we drive around and went on a couple of calls and worked

I believe HSSP is a substance free community because it wants to show individuals of the seriousness of wanting to send and prepare students into the pre-health side. Another reason could be trying to prepare students for how to stay healthy and to treasure their own health as well as others. Their goal is to create a pre-professional Environment and to prepare them in the academics, I sustain the capacity to assist others in creating different events that would help support the substance-free environment. An Example could be in the beginning of the year, have an event in which parents are also invited and discussion would be organized to help students realize why it’s so important for HSSP in being a substance-free environment.
Purpose of Proposed Evaluation The purpose of this evaluation of the Ohel-Bais Ezra Outpatient Substance Abuse Program is to provide information to the agency Executive Director, David Mandel, the six current program directors and Chief Financial Officer, Howard Lorch. The community based prevention programs for the most part are very good and do a good job in the prevention of problems. Its main goal it to work with the disadvantage monetary families to give them quality programs and amenities; it has show to make them more successful in school and gives the kids a way out troubled situations and helps the at risk children.
