4.1.3 - Supporting activities for developing cultural intelligence
In order to develop cultural intelligence, an individual could also spend time in a foreign country studying their culture which enhances the ability of the individual to understand the cross-cultural similarities and differences. There are many other activities that can be used to improve upon the cultural intelligence which could be in the form of informal interactions or formal education. Sometimes, cultural intelligence can be developed by interacting with people who are culturally different. This could happen while interacting with cross-cultural teams, by undertaking foreign assignments and by interacting with individuals who are culturally different from you.

4.1.5 – Decision-making models across cultures
Global organisations today place various demands on the leaders, as the leaders have to withstand the cultural effects and integrate culture into the business process. One of the most important aspects which is influenced by culture is decision-making. It is important to understand the decision models in the cultural context which support cross-cultural negotiation, marketing efforts and team leadership and other efforts that are critical to contemporary business leaders.
Decision-making is affected by psychological and sociological factors which are influenced by culture. These are important because values, beliefs, self-image, societal rules, goals, and group norms all affect the behaviors and expectations of members. Understanding the interaction between culture and various decision models can therefore help in operating multicultural businesses.
In order to study the impact of culture on decisions, the following four models of decision-making may be considered to analyse how they may be relevant in the cultural context .
