When you were a child, what kind of toys did you play with? Was it toy cars that you had to push in order to move or was it battery operated where you just pressed a button and it drove around by itself. Technology is developing in such away, that we will operate just by technology someday. Kids are glued to their electronic devices and have to be forced outside to “play”. ANd with all of this new technology there comes a new question, how much of our education should come from technology? Well, to start we must decide what are the most important factors that a school should consider before using technology in its teaching. Things like the cost of technology, and its effectiveness are very important, but we also must consider, how is it being taught, if it is appropriate, and how technology is affecting a child's brain/health. In an arizona high school, students have no textbooks, they have only ibooks (digital copies), because the school officials there believe that students will be more engaged to learning. She writes this because machines are taking over what humans had originally done, for example, where we used to have to hand write a letter and send it in the mail, which could take days, now we can type an email on a computer and send it to someone in seconds.
