Philosophy Paper Throughout learning different type of educational philosophies of teaching, the one that best fits me and I would like to practice on my teaching is progressivism. Progressivism emphasize in real- world problem solving and individual development. This philosophy believes that the purpose of schooling is to develop students as completely as possible such as intellectually, physically, emotionally, and socially. One important element in the progressivism curriculum is experiences that will be applied to the future and and exsist in the real-world. Also, when creating these rules I will consider my students thoughts and opinions on how they should behave in the classroom and the consequences if they do not follow these rules. This will take place the first day of school, they students will share their ideas and thoughts where they will meet and socialize with their classmates. It is important to explain to them that although they have helped me create classroom rules, I will also create my own disciplinary rules. For example sending them out of class when needed, contact their parents, or sending them to the principal if those rules are broken. For example, if a student is constantly disrupting class and keeps talking to other classmates while I'm lecturing class I would ask the student to step outside, and reflect on their behavior. I will go outside with the student and ask them why they are disrupting class. I will talk to the student and tell him/her that I have asked numerous times to stop talking, now if the behavior continues after entering class again I will send the student to the principals office.
