My teaching philosophy is to develop young children into self-thinking, self-controlling, caring, and independent students. I will create a safe environment for each student to learn, explore, and play. I will have an all-inclusive classroom, no matter what their background, ethnicity, and culture. My guiding principles are that students should be encouraged to work toward their potential and appropriate behaviors should be acknowledged and students are expected to treat one another with respect and dignity. Recognizing the importance of forming a partnership with the parents in order to create a positive experience for the students.

Even in classroom rule development, I will give my students the opportunity to voice their opinions. I will follow the pillars of character to form the rules with my students. I will discuss and teach the importance of good character to my students and lead them to agree and decide on the rules that best benefit them. The pillar of character that I will teach them are trustworthy, responsibility, caring, fairness, and respect. Being involve in the rules making will make the students more likely to abide by them. I will explain it, rehearse it, and review the routines once a month.
• Materials- I will need a couple books to read about storms. Ex. Thunder cake, Thunder Boomer, or Franklin and the thunderstorm. The desk in the middle of the class that will be taught during routines. Map of exits in case we have to evacuate the building or portable.
• What happens during the crisis? During a weather storm, I will ensure that all of the students in my classroom are prepared. For example, if a tornado is nearby, I will begin the tornado routines. Each student and I will push our desks to the middle of the class away from windows. We will kneel and dog walk under the combine tables in a manner that they can see me at all times.
• What happens after the crisis? After the crisis, I will take roll call to make sure that all of the children are still with me. If we have to evacuate, we will line up by the exit door if possible. If not, I will page into the main office and inform them about the situation. If they inform me that I need to find another exit, then I will go to the escape window and open it to allow the students to exit one by
