Philosophy of Education

I believe all students can learn on all extents as long as they are willing or wanting to learn. I believe this because learning is a thing that kind of just happens as long as you want to. The only time you really don’t learn is if you are trying not to learn. If you pay attention you will learn, even if you are struggling you are still learning something and you can still learn if you are struggling you just might need to try harder and seek help. To the point of you learn with just living your life and not trying. I know I learn things just by having conversations with people or scrolling social media. What the student already know is important because how much they already know influences how easy it is to learn materials stemming off of that and how hard it is to grasp the materials. The quality of teaching is important because bad teaching equals bad learning. It is hard to learn with a bad teacher. Students need a good teacher to be able to teach the students effectively. Motivation is important because the more motivated they are the more likely they are to learn. If they are not very motivated then the chances are that they will not learn very much because they are not motivated to do so. Students learn differently based on their culture, stage of development, and economic status. For example, it is harder for someone with a lower economic status versus higher economic status to learn because those with a higher economic status can afford more of the tools they need to be a successful student. While those with lower status cant afford those resources. Culture can influence learning also. For example, a lot of times other cultures learn differently that those of dominant culture in region and because the teacher most likely belongs to the dominant culture she teaches in the way for dominant culture and the non-dominant culture slips through the cracks. Teachers can support their learning by offering tutoring. Offering tutoring shows that you care and helps them advance their learning. Teachers could help motivate students by making their lessons fun by doing activities and fun examples or stories. As I discussed earlier motivation is an important factor in students learning so making lessons fun will make students motivated to learn. Making sure that the students are understanding what you are saying and making sure that the quality f your teaching is good. As I discussed earlier quality of teaching Is a thing that influences students learning so making sure that students are understanding you and that you are doing a good job teaching is a great way to support learning of all students. Making sure you give all students regardless of background get all the attention they need will help their learning. Making sure you teach in a way that all students can understand is a way to help learning because as discussed earlier students with different background learn differently. To support my students I will come up with several resources like me staying after school to help students, offering tutoring, having desks arranged in groups, using online resources to better my
