I am currently a head start lead teacher in a preschool classroom. I teach children from three to five years old. I am currently working with the preschool curriculum high scope. As a teacher I would like to increase my best practice in mathematics in the classroom setting. When I plan for my lesson plans as a teacher I always plan for language and literacy and science. I have a hard time planning math activities for my students’ that is beyond the basic mathematics counting and shapes. I want to create fun math activities that keeps the children interested. I am having a hard time keeping the children interested when I do math activities in a small group setting. My goal as an educator is to help my student meet their goals for the school year that is set by the parents along with the teachers. Also preparing children for kindergarten.

When children make a plan to where they want to work during work time. According to Ann Epstein, when children are making choices reflecting to make a decisions using logic and reasoning. During recall time children are using their language and thought to recall what the child observe and did throughout worktime verbally or nonverbally. Conflicts resolution dealing with problem solving, children who have a problem with sharing toys in the classroom setting. Using the conflict resolutions concept to help children begin to solve problems. Sometime teachers may have to lead the children through the problem solving steps. Adult approach the situation calmly, ask the children open ended question to help children solve the problem. Both children will help solve the problem.
