Teaching is a profession that makes all other professions possible and is a vital part of our society. No matter what path you choose in life, whether that be college, the military, or the job force, someone is going to be teaching you how to be successful in life. However, it is our job to use the knowledge that has been given to us to open doors for ourselves. Education is the key to success in all walks of life and teaching is giving a key to students to unlock their own potential. In our society, students are taught to memorize a set of rules and to use those rules to pass the test. I believe life is one big test and merely memorizing how to sound competent will only get you so far. I want to teach children to truly think on their own, not just regurgitate what I want them to say. I want to give them the keys to unlock their own dreams by teaching them how to problem solve and reach their own conclusions. I know I can not possibly adapt every lesson to every learning style but I will try my best to help each student learn at their highest level. I want my students to have plenty of opportunity to earn their grade instead of stressing over one paper, or test. This will allow students to feel less stressed in the classroom and allow for more creative learning to occur. Also by using several different assessment methods I will be catering to students who may not feel comfortable expressing their knowledge in certain formats. Some students are just not good at taking test. I myself experienced this in school and want my students to be able to show their acquired knowledge in other
