Teachers play a very important part in the lives of their/our students and not just the students in their classroom. Although we hold the main duty of education our students, it’s far more to that. Actually, that is an understatement. Teachers serve many other roles in the classroom and school. We set the tone of the classroom, build a warm and safe environment, mentor our students, become role models, we are “2nd parents”, we protect and serve our students, and we are advocates for our students.
Creating a classroom environment that is that is warm, welcoming, and safe contributes to a classroom where students will learn their best. I believe this is like the “cause and effect syndrome”. I will give my best because my teacher gives her best. I will be happy, because my teacher is happy. This environment also is the best learning condition because the children feel accepted by everyone.

As a student in the profession, my mindset was mainly focused on how to make learning for an accessible for the different learning styles. I set on just the standards and content that I would teach. It wasn’t long after I entered the profession of teaching that my vision began to change. I begin to look at the profession from a different angle. There was some fine print somewhere on the application that I did not see that there were other roles attached with this profession and they extend beyond the school’s foundation. My vision for the teaching profession as a whole is to instill a desire to learn within my students. This learning process is not just consist of academic content but includes the content of using good morals, being positive, persistent, and other characteristics to help one to be successful in society and fulfilling their life’s purpose. This will then continue the cycle of creating other successful learners and a successful
