I believe that each and every child is unique in their own way. Who needs a secure and caring environment in which they can grow and mature emotionally, cognitively, physically, and socially. That’s why for me it’s important to help the students meet their full potential in this areas by providing an environment that is safe and also a place where they are able to share their ideas with each other and to let them explore their curiosity because after all that’s how they learn. As a teacher I feel that we should motivate our students to become the best that they can be by incorporating in our curriculum the many theories that we have learn in this class so that we can help them achieve their full potential. They take what they have learned and apply that in their everyday life so we want to set good examples. A good teacher will always teach them what’s good for them because that’s what they want for them. I know that being a teacher can be a hassle with full of challenges, frustrations, and responsibilities and at times you don’t even want to be in the classroom. I have seen this many times and I have heard teacher say “thank god this is my last week” in my head I am like why are you a teacher if you’re always complaining and you always have a bored face every time you walk through that door. I am talking about Headstart and I think majority of the problems is that the program is lacking and their teachers are deciding to quit because they are overwork, are given to much kids for one teacher and other teachers don’t want to help them because they want to leave early. I believe that everyone is capable of learning if they put their mind on it and of course if they are being motivated. Motivation that you can get by doing observations on the child. By observing a child, a teacher can make a proper curriculum that will focus on the child’s strengths and weaknesses. Of course if the child needs extra help with learning the ABC’S the teacher has to incorporate or make an activity that will help the child with his ABC’S. Also observations can be important because they not only tell you how far a child is cognitively but also physically. Physically as if the child is not doing the things he supposed to be doing in his age range. So if the child is behind the age range then that means he needs to see a specialist. As a teacher doing these observations are helpful because it lets us know how far they are, if they have a special need, why the child has certain tempers and what can we do to help the child. After all, as a teacher what is important is to help the child. From my many observations I have learned that classroom climate is important to a child as well as for parents. As a teacher a clean, well organize, classroom with adequate books, materials and plenty of space for kids to play is important for their learning but it also shows that the teacher cares about her students learning, well-being and an environment. I want to establish a
