I feel that as a teacher I should always strive to be understanding, creative, patient, and kind with all students that I cross paths with. It is important to be patient and understanding with students because everyone learns at a different pace, and as a teacher, I need to understand that and promote learning to every student. Being patient and understanding in the classroom will allow my students to come to me with any problems they may have without a second thought, and could alleviate anxiety in my classroom. I want to be someone students know they can come to for help, and I want my classroom to be a safe space for everyone to relax because when students are comfortable and relaxed they will be able to remember information and learn more …show more content…

When students see something that they are interested in, and that is relevant to their life in the classroom, they will be more engaged and pay closer attention because it is something that pertains to their life outside of school. I will incorporate the students' cultures into my classroom, and make sure that each student feels recognized for who they are, and I will tailor my lessons to each student's individual needs to ensure the highest level of understanding and education. If I have gifted students in my classroom I will make sure that I have work that I can provide to them that expands on the lesson we are learning about, and if I have students that need a little bit of extra help, I will work with them individually or in small groups to ensure they understand the material before moving on. I will use formative and summative assessments in my classroom to test my students' knowledge of a subject and see if I taught the material in a way that worked for them. I will give different forms of assessment, such as self-assessments, projects, written tests, asking questions out loud, and more, and I will see what works best for my students and implement that method in my classroom more often.
