As a student, our daily routine of going to class, studying, and doing homework becomes unexciting and repetitive as the semester continues. Although teachers put a lot of efforts into preparing, teaching and reflecting about their lessons, students do not always appreciate their teacher’s efforts due to an absence of a connection with their teachers and the atmosphere of their learning environment.

I think it is important to establish an individual connection and relationship with each student to make the student feel like they are valued by the teacher. If a student feels like their teachers genuinely care about their well-being emotionally, and they have a relationship beyond teacher and student, it becomes very easy for a student to feel valued. I think teachers can establish such relationship with their students by knowing more about their hobbies, family and personal life, and to simply engage in small talk about the student’s hobbies. From an academic aspect, I believe a teacher that shows interest in their students’ academic success by creating engaging and creative lessons, and accepts their student’s opinions will have the most success in making their students feel valued. …show more content…

Beyond their actual lessons, the teacher would always tell personal stories and share their experiences through their life, often relating them to the topics discussed in the many topics covered in class. This was a teacher who a student would confidently raise their hand and ask for personal advice in front of the whole class. From my experience with this teacher, I believe to create an inspiring learning environment teachers must be able to teach the curriculum with practicality. They should be able to help students visualize the importance of the material in their day to day
