What do you consider your greatest asset as a teacher?
My greatest asset as a teacher is my passion to work with children, and my rich pedagogical and content knowledge in math.

Describe how you are continuing to grow and develop as an educator.
It is always something new to learn as an educator. In particular, I keep attending professional development workshops, teaching conferences, and learning from online resources and other colleagues.

How do you address students with literacy challenges?
I will encourage these students to read more books they are really interested in. And I will discuss with the students about the content of those books.

How do you contribute to the Response to Intervention process?

How do you prepare for the first day of school?
I will introduce myself to students and my colleagues I did not know before. I will tell students what they can and cannot do in the class. If time allowed, I will do some games about math with the students.

What do you think is the single greatest challenge facing educators today?
The greatest challenge facing educators today is an insufficient support from parents and the society. There are much criticism and little constructive support.

Mathematics has traditionally been a challenging discipline for many students; please describe how you engage your learners when they struggle with the content.
There are several ways I will do. 1. When teach a complex concept, I will first use some simpler examples and link students’ previous knowledge to the new knowledge. 2. I will try to link students’ everyday experience to the learning of math. 3. If possible I will use visualized tools and hands on manipulatives to assist teaching and learning.
