the creation of the radar really impacted the victory in World War II. However, during the Cold War it almost led to our very own destruction when a practice tape was accidently placed alerting that the Soviets were attacking us. This could have led to start of a nuclear war. It is impressive that various weapons that were created were in fact useless. Although some of the new weapons were very impressive and innovating, they were produced at a rate which was not necessary. The government felt that the need to build more weapons would lead to a victory of the Soviet Union if a war did in fact occur. However, no one could actually win a nuclear war. The brilliant minds that created incredible weaponry did so that we could win World War II. However, it mass production causes senseless wars for which politicians and middleman are profiting from the deaths of innocent lives. The military-industrial complex has impacted our great nation in many negative ways. It caused a never ending cycle between the military-industrial complex, the government, and the industry in which everyone wins except for the civilians. New technology should not be constructed just because we can. For instance, the massive construction of the F-35 military plane is incredible. I cannot comprehend how billions of dollars have been put into the creation of this plane. Although in theory it seems very innovative, it's actually a piece of crap. Unfortunately, due to the events like illegal arms trade and nuclear weapons has caused much danger to our society. Furthermore, the amount of secret information the government keeps from the public is absurd. I feel like it is very hypocritical of them to try and gather as much information on each of us through the NSA, yet we cannot find out what they are up too. The big secrets they have kept are how dangerous nuclear weapons truly are and that hiding in dirt will not save one's life.
