The citizens in the U.S are double the amount of people in Japan, yet Japan has more engineers than U.S. This is one example of how technology is different between the two countries. We are not just talking about now, we are talking about the past too.
It is believed Japan’s technology is more advanced than United State. Japan’s electronics are known throughout the world as being higher quality. However, Apple the company the make the iPad and iPod is a U.S. company that is known throughout the world.
Japan is one of the leading nations in scientific research. They have over 677,731 researchers. But the United States over history leads with the number of Nobel prizes with 356 compared to Japans 24.

This invention lead to the U.S. invention of the telephone. In addition to these invention, Benjamin Franklin pioneered the study of electricity by being the first to discover positive and negative charges. After that, Benjamin Franklin invented the lightning rod and Thomas Edison invented the light bulb.
Japan also invented some new technologies that we use every day. The portable camcorder, the first digital camera as well as CDs & DVDs were all invented by Japanese companies such as JVC and Panasonic. Japan has over a million vending machines that sell iPods, sodas, candies, and cell phones. Japan has one of the world’s largest economies. The Tsukiji market in central Tokyo is the largest wholesale fish and seafood market in the world. The United State is home to Amazon which is the world largest on-line store. The United States is also the world largest producer of air planes with Boeing as the main supplier. Japan has high efficient busses and trains and subways. Traffic is heavy in Japan, especially in the big cities most Japanese families do not own a car but use the public transportation.
