The Change In Anne Frank During The Holocaust

Everyone changes over time, they grow up and evolve from the person they used to be. Change in a person is just a part of life and happens to everyone. The Holocaust was an event that happened in the 1930s and 40s all over Europe. Over six million Jewish people were killed in camps and of those people were Anne Frank and her family. Anne was just a 13-year-old girl when she and her family went into hiding with another family above her dad's business. When they first moved into The Secret Annex Anne was an energetic, crazy kid who loved to talk and be involved in everyone's life who she lived with. She bickered with everyone she lived with and drove them crazy. At the time they went into hiding in 1942, they never would have thought that the

Soon after the Franks had been in hiding Anne was having trouble being in the Annex not being able to move around. This scene demonstrates how Anne has lots of energy and outburst. She was very childish and immature at this time. This can be seen on line 574, “Anne (Her pent-up energy explodes.) WHEE!” After Anne does this when the people in The Secret Annex can finally move around, her mom and others in the Annex become startled by her outburst. Anne was very excited to move around The Secret Annex because the last night crew group had finally left. Anne often shocked or startled people with her fast actions during the play. The Franks and Van Daans are scared out of their minds standing behind the door of The Secret Annex while Nazis try to break in. This can be found on lines 1304-1307 “ Anne stands, holding her school satchel, looking over at her father and mother with a soft, reassuring smile.
