Teamwork
The growth I had in this capability comes from reviewing my understanding of teamwork. In Phase 1 we had more opportunity to work with peers through group projects and I made a poor effort in giving feedback. The same was repeated in Phase 2, for when I gave feedback it was general and not specific. Gathering from my past mistakes I plan to have a simple record of the meetings in group work ‘on paper’ and write down the achievements of the meetings, in particular whom gave contributions through ideas, whom solved issues and whom were in need of constructive criticism. These notes would be kept as hard copy in files as to be able to be retrieved for when feedback is necessary. I found this method helpful with getting me through the

This instance was proven to me when I started to take detailed meeting summaries in ILP and another student was conferenced in by phone. After the meeting, when discussing the tasks allocated to us, I was able to advice the student on tasks that were ambiguous and that was made easier when I was aware that they were open to criticism. We were tasked in contacting APNA (Australian Primary Health Care Nurses Association) and I was able to record contact details, nature of request and the dateline of said task. This led me to being able to relay information properly to others. That event also empowered others to give feedback to me, and such it happened when my peers gave feedback on the literature research I had done. The comments helped with the depth, range and context of the materials I had, and if it wasn’t for it, I would have wasted my supervisor’s time with research that was incorrect. Specific comments require attention and time, and by providing decent insight I can show how much I value my team member’s teamwork. This made me understand the importance of teamwork; it made me value how much teamwork can be applied to ensure better treatment of patients in regards to multimodal approach of …show more content…
Having an online document with scripts and timing for the scenes helped with dividing the workload. It was particularly helpful as deadline was nearing and I was swamped with coursework. What helped specifically is the ability to agree and discuss decisions in real time, where not having to wait to meet means that issues can be solved rather quickly. With the work, when the crowd reaction differs for different nights, we had to decide which had better sound quality and having real time discussions made it easy. This is something I incorporate into ILP as we have an online spreadsheet to layout the general practices to be contacted and followed-up. I understand that I need to improve this capability in Phase 3 and, I must improve my skills at giving feedback, by being specific and constructive. Having reflected on this, I must provide better attention to my team and myself. I need to work on being aware of how my interactions affect others and how I can use that to build good
