Nursing is a huge job scope where both knowledge and practical skills are important, but Prof G. Muthamilselvi (2010) mentioned that in recent years, many nursing researcher reported that nursing students have a good knowledge but poor with skill in clinical settings. As the result, there are more unskillful students in the nursing field which has brings down the nurses’ quality. This is a serious problem because it brings the effect to the nursing image. Therefore, clinical teaching plays an important role to provide a continuous education and training for the nursing students in order to develop more professional nurses in the future.

Steivy U. Tiwaken & Lawrence C. Caranto & Juan Jose T. David (2015) defined clinical teaching as student nurses learn to apply the teory of nursing and facilitating integration of theoretical knowledge and practical skills in the clinical setting. Teaching is a system where there is a teacher or tutor who guide and teach students so that they learn and understand what the teacher wants to deliver. Meanwhile, clinical teaching is a teaching system which takes place at clinical setting, where there is a clinical instructor teach and perform the theorical knowledge and practical to students.
