Henry Ford was born july 30,1863 in his family's farm in Dearborn, Michigan. When he was a young boy, he enjoyed playing with machines. In 1876 he started working as an apprentice machinist in detroit and in 1891 became an engineer with the Edison Illuminating Company. Eventually he had enough money to start his experiments on gasoline engines.In 1896 ford finally had constructed his first horseless carriage, which he sold in order to finance work on an improved model.After some years he started to build the first racing car.

His next invention was the first racing car. Ford designed, built, and successfully raced a 26 horsepower automobile in October 1901. After being successful with his first race, stockholders in Detroit Automobile Company formed Henry Ford’s Company on November 30,1901, with Ford as chief engineer. Ford left the company bearing his name which was then renamed the Cadillac Automotive Company. After ford left the company, he continued building a racing car.
