The Maze Runner In many books and movies, they all have their own storyline that are being told in different universal themes. Universal themes are ideas of how the story is set up that could connect to the main story line such as romantic, fighting, or drama scenes. An example that shows universal themes would be “The Maze Runner” directed by Wes Ball. And in this movie, it is settled in a dystopian science fiction society that is exposed with many universal themes. When you think about it, the maze is just like how the real world would be like out there. There are many obstacles and challenges that you would have to face like how Thomas fought the griever and tried solving the maze puzzle. After high school, you will have to go start your own career and begin building it by going to college. You will have to take risks and face the real world out there. Therefore, the movie has a connection to how life is like. Before when Thomas showed up into the Glade, the people on that land was always scared to go into the maze. There was something that they were always afraid of, the grievers, until Thomas showed up and he was the first person ever to kill a griever. “ This is not home, our real home is out there. If we stay here nothing will never change” as Thomas had said to Gally. It taught people to never let anything haunt you down forever, all you have to do is move on, and fight that obstacle and overcome it. You will feel more confidence about yourself and a lot stronger.
