The lLast time a nuclear bomb was used, was 60 years ago (Allison) , which was when the U.S bombed Japan. It was the only time nuclear bombs were used for the in purpose of destroying life. As history shows, the bombs which hit Hiroshima and Nagasaki, killed over hundred of thousand people. (Wikipedia) Back then, the population wasn’t as big as today's. So if a bomb went off in an urban area, it's going to be over hundred thousand dead in matter of a few hours.
