I’m pretty sure that most people know what abortion is, but the correct definition is “ to end pregnancy”. In 1973, abortion was legalized in the United States famous court case of Roe vs Wade. Roe was a single pregnant woman who was fighting the state of texas where the law stated she was not allowed to get an abortion. Roe actually won the case and abortion was legalized. Ever since then abortion has ben a major debate throughout our country.

There are two different types of groups who debate over this topic, they are pro-choice and pro-life. Pro-choice argues that abortion should be legalized without any influence of religion or government. Pro-life believes that unborn babies are human from the moment of conception and that abortion is killing an innocent human being. Both sides have valid points to argue, but the outcome of these arguments have been that abortion should be legal and it is the women’s choice whether or not to abort a fetus. …show more content…

They have other priorities such as education, career, and even some might be in a financial situation where they can't take care of a child. Another reason for getting an abortion is due to a medical problem with the child. If a parent finds out about a child being deformed or having a disease which may cause harm to its life then they may decide abortion is the best option.
