Fracking is the hydraulic fracturing of the Earth. A giant drill bit is drilled down into the Earth before a high pressure water mixture is directed onto the Earth’s sediment. When the Earth’s rock is drilled away at natural gas is released. When the drill is drilling water, sand, and chemicals are injected into Earth at high pressures. This will allow the gas in the Earth to flow out. It is very controversial subject. It is so controversial because if anything goes wrong the effects could be catastrophic.

There are over half a million natural gas active gas wells in the United States. It is a very lucrative business. It has the possibility to be unsafe. If the people who are in charge aren’t trained properly, and they make a mistake
