When I was a kid I wanted to become a police officer. I thought they were so cool with black uniforms, guns, and tasers. This was when I was the age of seven, but I have wised up since then. When I heard that it was being talked about whether or not police should be the only people allowed to have guns, I did some research. I saw a source on the internet that stated the police killed 161 unarmed people in the United States alone last year. My dreams were diminished. Police cannot be the only people with guns because people die every year because of them, it violates the second amendment, and eliminates the sport of shooting and some peoples way of getting food.

There is a spring hunt and a fall hunt which regulate the number of animals in the wild. Every year expert scientists calculate the amount of food in a certain area and decide how many animals need to be taken out in order to keep the population alive. According to www.peta.org, if people do not have guns to hunt, animals will overpopulate and die of starvation. This shows that without animal hunting and animal regulation all the animals will die out and then no people will have anything to eat so they will eventually die. Some people may think that the police can protect the people and control animal populations at the same time but, this is not true they will become too busy doing one thing or the other and people or animals will die. Therefore, police officers cannot be the only people with guns.
Police officers should not be the only ones that have guns. Police cannot be the only ones with guns because it violates the second amendment, eliminates some people's way of getting food and the sport of shooting, and causes hundreds of deaths yearly.
