Do More Guns= More violence?
In the year 2010, guns were used in 11,078 murders. Almost 35% of deaths are caused by guns and 68% murders (Giffords Law Center to Prevent Gun Violence). Many people think that gun control can be an effective way to reduce the amount of homicides in the world, but are setting gun control laws as efficient as we think? The definition of gun control are the “government regulation of the sale or ownership of firearms”(Dictionary.com). Although these regulations are set this does not mean that the number of deaths due to guns will be reduced. While gun control prevents the purchase of guns, but they can still be sold in the black-market, it does not change the fact that humans are the ones killing not guns, and gun control laws have been proven ineffective. …show more content…

With gun control laws it will not change the selling of guns it would just make it illegal but not entirely out of stock. People always find a way to get their own way. As a child, many children find a way to get something they want such as candy they will do whatever necessary to get what they want such as throwing tantrums or worse stealing them. Such as these children find a way to get what they want so will an adult or anyone even if it means breaking the rules. Even though the government sets laws “there will always be people who steal firearms or alter information on background checks to circumvent laws”(Vittana.org). According to Giffords law center, more than half of firearms are stolen throughout each year and more than half are hand guns, stolen illegally. The U.S Department of justice figured out that 8.4% of state prison inmates had possession of firearms and obtained the gun from the illegal black market.
