The gun store is like a candy store for adults. There is a wide variety of candy, it’s the same thing for guns. As of now, it doesn’t matter whether or not the client has any form of mental illness or disability. It only matters if that person is at our above the required age and if he/she has the money to purchase the gun. Cataclysmic events such as the shooting at Stoneman Douglas High School and the shooting at Columbine were all caused by those who are either irresponsible with firearms or have a mental illness. Such events could have been prevented if it was more difficult for one to obtain such weapons. Ways that we could make the process more difficult is by requiring psychological evaluation for those who are making an attempt to purchase the desired weapon, we could raise the age …show more content…

Gun laws are different in each state. For example in some states, background checks are not mandatory to own a firearm and vice versa. States that do require background checks for all types of guns include California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Nevada, New York, Oregon, Rhode Island, and Washington.
