If people are smoking marijuana they are going to lose brain cells, especially if they start smoking early in they will lose a massive amount more. Why would marijuana be legalized anywhere in the United States if it can cause countless problems? Studies with marijuana shows that it can damage people’s immune system, making it easier for people to get sick and now they are more prone to get an illness (Cherney). Marijuana can hurt immune systems of people and this makes it easier for that person to get sick. So if the flu is going around a person who smokes is more likely to get sick that a person who does not smoke or use marijuana. Also if there is someone near the person who uses marijuana that has a disease or viruses that person is more likely to get sick and even die from it than someone who does not use marijuana in anyway. Although marijuana can ease the pain of control spasms and seizure there are riskier and incredibly worse long term effects on the Central Nervous System. It can alter people’s balance, coordination, and reflex response (Cherney). Marijuana has some serious long term effects on people’s nervous systems. People who use marijuana can lose balance and reflex reaction time. This can be a serious problem if the person is out of their house or even in their home. Many people could get vigorously injured or even die if something really goes wrong. Smoking marijuana is the most damaging and dangerous ways to use marijuana. Marijuana can increase people’s appetite, so if a person is struggling with keeping food down and/or eating in general it might be a good fix temporarily for them. Marijuana becomes addictive instanously. Even though marijuana can help that person who struggles with not eating for a short amount of time, it has many more countless, horrible effects. It can make people lose their balance, causes people’s immune systems to become weaker making it easier for them to get sick, it causes addiction, and causes people to lose many IQ points. Marijuana does a lot more bad than it does good for the person who uses it. Many people do not understand that marijuana has lots of consequences. Addiction is one of the many side effects of marijuana. It is not an easy side effect to get over, it takes plenty of time to get over.
