The Science For A Smarter Workplace defines Industrial Organizational psychology as the scientific study of working and the application of that science to workplace issues facing individuals, teams and organization. In other words, a I-O psychologist focus on providing the employees with a satisfy workplace while improving the employee's behavior. In order to provide a healthy and satisfying workplace, the I-O practitioners will conduct research and studies to see the areas of needs and made modification to these areas.After, they will design programs and training courses that will enhance the employee's work performance in the workplace. They focus on the professional development of the employees and in different methods to improve the employee's behavior in the workplace. Every type of psychology focus on a different area of the human’s life. Clinical psychology concentrates in the treatment of mental illness and disability. Cognitive psychology works with the patient's mental processes such as, perception, thinking, learning and memory. Social psychology deals with social interactions, and the list of psychology brands goes on each of them focusing in a different area of the human’s life. However, when it comes to I-O psychology it might seem like a very rare area for people to study, but it is a very need one. As employees, we spend most of our days working; therefore, we have to work in a satisfying and pleasing workplace. When I say satisfying and pleasing, I mean that the workplace should help the employees in their professional and mental development. I-O psychology is different from the other psychology branches because it focus on conducting research and studies in the workplace, and make necessaries accommodations to better benefit their
