There are ethics and codes of conduct that guide police officers in the execution of their duty. The three shootings orchestrated by the police officer shows a possibility of mental instability. By law, the police is not allowed to apply force in the arresting of criminals. Shooting can only be allowed in an event where the police officer’s life is at risk. However, for criminal justice to be embraced, shoot to kill is prohibited by law. The sniper in question must have been mentally unstable to commit such killings. His decisions to shoot offenders is more likely guided by his cruel nature rather than profession guidelines. He acts violently when dealing with offenders as seen where he beats up the offender before arresting him which is against the professional guidelines. Personality disorders are mostly linked to interpersonal relationships and how individuals treat their social counterparts. However, it also involves the nature of decisions people make based on their personal feelings. It is very likely that the sniper lacks personal feelings towards other people’s lives. Their behaviors and attitudes greatly differs from others and they show some sense of abnormality in terms of how they conduct themselves socially as well as professionally (Roger, 1996). Although these disorders may prove difficult to correct because they involve the social aspect of life, there are psychological diagnoses that can help improve the social responsibility of individuals suffering from personality disorders. Treatment of the sniper, would significantly impact his interpersonal relationships starting from his family affairs. His ability to uphold virtues of team work with his colleagues is also bound to improve if he is treated. Mental health problems are illnesses that pose lots of life problems to individuals who suffer from these health problems. Despite the difficulty that comes with treating these disorders, it is imperative for the victims to seek cognitive and behavioral therapies as well as medical attention to be able to improve their lives. This would minimize problems that result from relationships as well as those that result from work places due to mental
