What is leadership? Is the ability to create a vision, motivate, and inspire people to help achieve that vision. The three components of leadership the Army practices first is an individual’s internal qualities, these define who you are. Second is competence, these include interpersonal skills, conceptual skill, and technical skills. This does not mean leaders must have all the answers but have a certain level of knowledge and mastery of these skills. Lastly leaders act, they provide that purpose, directions, and motivation.
