The first thing the student should pay attention to is the fact that the actual paper they are writing needs to be 4 pages long double spaced in 10 to 12 point times new roman. This means there paper will be at minimum 1000 words give or take. With an outline it is important to have at least a quarter to half the full minimum length of the paper with brief summaries that you can turn into sentences.
After the student has found a work and written a strong thesis they need to start thinking of what they want to talk about in the paper.
