With the title like “Shitty First Drafts” I knew I would like this essay and I was right. Anne Lamott makes this easy to read without leaving me with any questions. The humorous tone that Lamott uses keeps you interested while she’s giving your great writing advice. This was a great read for me as I am currently struggling with writing some articles for another project.
I referred to unit 7’s discussion post where you outlined your essay. So far your research has proven to make for an interesting essay. I’m sorry I did not find a persuasive thesis statement in Unit 8 though, meaning I’m not convinced that there should be a policy change. I know you stated this is a working thesis statement which was not included in unit 8’s post. If you don’t mind, I would like to give some guidance.
With this essay I did try new strategies for writing. I came up with a small outline of what I was going to speak about in each paragraph. Previously, I would write the paper from start to finish. I did not think about how I was going to arrange the paper before going into my writing.

I have revised my thesis statement to two sentences, rather than one. This is so that my point can be understood in a more effective way. The first thing the student should pay attention to is the fact that the actual paper they are writing needs to be 4 pages long double spaced in 10 to 12 point times new roman.
