What do preschool teachers teach? How do preschool teachers respond to the parents needs daily? How do preschool teachers write appropriate lesson plans for the children? How do preschool teachers keep children safe in the classroom? Preschool teachers guide parents and their preschoolers by teaching, responding to parent’s needs, writing lesson plans, and keeping the children safe. Preschool teachers teach the children different lectures each day with a variety of activities involved. They provide a selection of interest that the children many want to be involved in. The teachers communicate with the parents each day by emailing, phone calls, or in person contact. For instance, they will write and send home weekly newsletters with the child’s parent. Sending home newsletters gives the parent an idea of what the child will learn in the upcoming week, what will be going on in the classroom, and special helpers that will be in the classroom. Another example may be hosting parent-teacher conferences once a month. When a child’s parent meets with the teacher, it helps the parent get an understanding of where their child stands in the classroom. If the teacher becomes concerned about a child, they will address them to the parent. A third example includes in person contact when the parent arrives to pick up the child. The teacher will let the parent know how the child’s day went, and any special concerns the parent needs to know for the next day. They focus on the important aspects that a child will gain knowledge from. For example, they include small group activities in their curriculum for all the children to be a part of. Gathering the children into different groups will help the children explore the environment and meet new friends. It will help them communicate with each other and share their ideas. Another example may include using transitions as a part of the day to make the clean-up time go smoother. Using songs for transitions will help the children take part in a classroom task. The different tasks include the following: cleaning up the toys, sanitizing the tables, sweeping the floor, washing hands, etc. Transitions in a classroom can make a difference on the children. It makes them feel they can complete the tasks independently. Also, it can help them experience different ways to complete a task. A third example includes preparing lectures for the children.
