All Eyes on Him
One person. 7 bullets. One dead man. The world was in awe as hundreds of news channels were broadcasting the death of Tupac Shakur. He was gunned down on September 13, 1996 at the age of 25. Many think his death was gang related due to his iniquitous background and association with Death Row Records. While others think it was just a random hater because it was a drive-by shooting.
Reason #1 Many think Shakur’s corrupted background came from him being part of the “wrong crowd” which later influenced his life leading up to his death. At a young age he moved from NYC to Marin City, California. NyDailyNews states “ It was in Marin City that Afeni (his mother) succumbed to a crack addiction--- a drug her son, Tupac would sell on the same streets his mother bought her supply.” His mother had to move and get help by entering rehab so he and his sister were left on their own which made their lives a lot harder and made him take responsibility at a young age. This also lead him to his rap career and him getting involved in crime. While this could seem true many facts point to his death being planned or connected with other things. According to NyDailyNews a friend of Shakur’s claims “ They’d been trying to get him to go to Vegas for a while, but he just wouldn’t go. Something just seemed off” (Rahimi). This leads you to think that there was more going to than meets the eye. Just hours before in a Las Vegas casino a crip that in earlier years took some of Tupac’s things so Tupac and his friends jumped him and left quickly.
