Unions are seen to have only a limited role in these economies. Today, union representation is being seen as contributing to the firm’s market performance, and not representation of interests (Kamoche, 2008). There has been a significant decline in union membership in Japan, China Germany and the USA. This trend has mainly been brought about by major political and government influence on union representation in these countries. Another cause for decline in union membership in these economies is due to the fact that collective bargaining agreements do most of the work of the unions, and employees do not see the need for these unions. However, unions are the most powerful in Germany and almost every other employee is represented by a union. Several large unions have also merged to increase their power (Konrad, 2015).
Job security
Job security has been defined as the probability that a person will keep their current job. Job security comes hand in hand with job satisfaction. Compared with other countries, the US registers high and better employment and unemployment records. The vast majority of the USA workers say that new skills and training and their dedication to work is the key to keeping their jobs in future.
